Reinsurance Accountant Treaty and Claims Accounting Latin America

Let’s connect: If you want to experience how things are done in the GFA-RA 2-9 L&H Latam team at our headquarters in Hannover / Germany, join us on a a temporary basis for 24 months, commencing at the earliest possible date as a Reinsurance Accountant Treaty and Claims Accounting Latin America. You work with clients and internal stakeholders, supporting financial closing and claims processes in an international environment.

You can look forward to

• Review, process and post reinsurance accounting statements, including completeness checks
• Handle claims processing, including sanctions screenings and coordination with claims specialists
• Manage SAP cash disbursements and reconcile outstanding items within ongoing accounting processes
• Maintain forecasts and estimates for selected reinsurance contracts
• Support quarterly closing activities and contribute to the timely delivery of financial reporting
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and participate in projects and working groups

You come equipped with

• Degree in Business Administration or a commercial qualification with relevant professional experience
• Initial experience in life insurance or comparable knowledge of the insurance industry, ideally complemented by exposure to automation tools such as Copilot or Power Query
• Basic knowledge of accounting standards, including HGB and IFRS 17, as well as ideally an understanding of mandatory and facultative reinsurance contract structures
• Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
• Fluent Spanish language skills for collaboration with clients across Latin America, along with conversational German and English skills
• Strong numerical aptitude, analytical and conceptual thinking skills, and a structured, well-organised approach to work with a high level of attention to quality
